Property description : Previously known as The Lodge,the hotel has a long history of hosting travellers to the region. First built in 1897, the hotel served briefly as a hospital for returning soldiers during the First World War. In 1932 a new Spanish style lodge was built with striking colonnades,Moorish arches and bell tower features that exist today. Following a multi million dollar refurbishment in 2000 The Heritage Hanmer Springs opened its doors to the increasing number of tourists travelling to take the waters or enjoy the scenic surroundings,vineyards and ski fields of the region.
