Our Favourites

Hi, I'm Jane Guthrie, the Product Director at Australia New Zealand Travel Marketing. We are the travel company who put together all the information on the Travel Mall website. We have spent the last 16 years arranging itineraries in Australia and New Zealand for clients around the world. My position is sourcing new products for our clients and fortunately for me, experiencing first hand.

The company and I are based here in Sydney and with the extraordinary technology of the internet we can now give you access to our vast database of product on Australia and New Zealand. Whilst we are proud to have built up a database of approx. 10,000 products we understand that not everyone has the time to wade through thousands of choices and that is why I have put together this section. I have had the opportunity to visit the majority of destinations that our overseas clients wish to see and enjoyed some really fantastic experiences along the way. Let me share the highlights with you and help make planning your holiday a little easier.

How to go about planning your holiday

New Zealand is an easy country to get around, it is similar in size to the United Kingdom. In 2 weeks you can easily see the major sights of both islands. You have 4 choices of mode of transport which will depend on how much time you have:

Self drive is by far the most popular way of seeing this picturesque country. There are 2 options to consider; car hire and hotel/motel accommodation or campervan hire. The main determining factor if you are undecided will be the time of the year you visit. In Spring/Summer (Mid Oct - Apr ) campervan hire is very popular and rates are higher. During the cooler months of May to early Oct, Hotel/Motel accommodation would be more comfortable especially in the South Island. I do recommend that where possible you pre-book your accommodation before arriving in New Zealand. At certain times of the year it is very difficult to find availability therefore pre-booking not only saves disappointment but valuable holiday time

Whichever mode of transport you choose, this is a great way of meeting local New Zealanders who are some of the friendliest characters in the South Pacific (next to us Australian's of course!)

Hertz Car Hire
Maui Campervans

Domestic Flights
If you don't have a lot of time then domestic flights with Air New Zealand will take you between the main centres of Auckland, Rotorua, Christchurch and Queenstown. These are best booked in conjunction with your international tickets as you are usually entitled to an international visitors discount (approx. 30%).

Coach Tours
If you want to sit back, relax and let someone else do the driving then we have a range of coach tours which are excellent value for money.

Intercity Travelpass
These travel passes are valid on New Zealand's coach, rail and ferry network. Some passes even incorporate flight sectors. This is an economical way to travel where you want when you want as the passes don't have to be used every day i.e 8 days travel in a 14 day period..
